Since the Campaign was launched in March 2006, over $7 million has been raised for grassroots projects supporting grandmothers and the children in their care in sub-Saharan Africa! This remarkable achievement is largely the work of groups across the country, who have worked tirelessly to hold fundraising events, raise awareness and advocate on behalf of their African sisters.

At the 2006 Grandmothers' Gathering, Canadians expressed their commitment to act as ambassadors and mobilize support for African grandmothers: "We are dedicated to finding ways to make it clear that Africa's grandmothers hold a place in our hearts and in our thoughts, not just today, but each day... We will not rest until they can rest."
