About the National Advocacy Committee
The National Advocacy Committee (NAC) is made up of active members of groups affiliated with the Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign from across Canada. The Committee includes three groups at all times:
- Cluster Leaders responsible to support and communicate with local groups coast to coast
- The Leadership Team, made up of two Co-Chairs and five other individuals, which meets and corresponds outside monthly NAC meetings and provides leadership during meetings
- Ex-Officio Consultants, including the Coordinator of the Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign
NAC holds monthly teleconference calls, circulates an Update via Cluster Leaders to all interested grandmothers groups, and manages the content of this portion of the Grandmothers web site. The Committee, including Cluster Leader alternates, usually numbers 25 members.
NAC provides leadership, support and resources related to advocacy for any and all grandmothers groups affiliated with the Grandmothers Campaign.
We are all volunteers and we are all learners. Advocacy is not easy but it is fascinating, meaningful and worthwhile.
